Social Responsibility - Solidarity Programme 1=2
Location: Burkina Faso, a tiny country in sub-saharan Africa, is the second poorest country in the world, where levels of schooling barely reach 3% and whose social and economics standards of living highlight the enormous imbalance in relation to our surroundings.
Project: Hostal Empuries and the Laafi Association are working together to build, in Burkina Faso, a public cultural centre, library, multi-purpose computer suites with computer training, a theatre, sports centre and a school for 200 children with a health and nutrition programme.
Solidarity Programme: Entitled Programme 1=2 , every time one of our guests decides to donate a sum to the cause of solidarity, for example 1 euro, Hostal Empuries commits to donate the same amount.
Moreover, a Solidarity Committee formed by the staff of the Hostal have decided to donate 0.5% of their salary, lead by the director of the Programme whose experience in co-operation and development ensures proper monitoring and communication.
Social and Institutional Recognition: A fundamental guarantee of this project, which few actually achieve, is institutional involvement demonstrated through the surrender of land (9000m2) for the building of the complex.
